Question:
Will I lose my virginity if I’ll use a dildo? I’m 20 years old and sad to say I am one of the NBSBs (No Boyfriend since Birth). I am very curious about sex and my friends told me how great it is. I feel that I am old enough to experience it but as I have said I have no boyfriend and I don’t want to do it with just anybody so might as well try it with a dildo first. Is the feeling the same with the actual intercourse?
Willy:
Basically, that will depend on how you perceive “virginity”. The most common understanding of virginity is the state of never having had sexual intercourse. The Oxford English Dictionary defines it as "an unmarried woman". Some cultures measures virginity through a woman’s hymen whether broken or not. However, this is sometimes illogical since the hymen can be broken from other things aside from the actual intercourse such as gymnastics, horseback riding or any other activities.
A dildo is a non-vibrating device resembling the penis in shape, size, and overall appearance and basically designed for vaginal penetration. More often, dildos are used for masturbation but it is also ideal for sexual activities. Dildos and other sex toys are designed to meet the adults’ sexual needs. In today’s generation and modern technology, dildos are made much more realistic to mimic the feel of the real ones.
So, going back to your question regarding the use of dildo and virginity, I must say that it depends on your own approach to it. As I have said, it is used for vaginal penetration so if you have never had sex and you use a dildo it is going to hurt just as having a real penis going deep inside of you because sex for the first time is painful. On the brighter side of it, variety of lubricants are now available to reduce, if not eliminate the pain caused by “first timers”.
